You're Nobody Unless You're Talked About...

gossip_girl.jpg

I'm currently hooked on Gossip Girl.

It's about the lives and lies of Upper East Siders in New York.

And all their drama is being documented and talked about in a blog being run by someone who calls herself Gossip Girl.

What I find weird is that the story line of the drama series is so gasgas na.

And the acting is just so-so.

And yet, I am just so into it.

I highly recommend it.

They have some of the best catfights I've seen on TV.

Heynk Yoo Beri Mats...

I've always been scared of going to the hospital. Since I'm separated from my family, I am terrified at the thought of being admitted into a hospital and not having anyone by my side.

Pero hindi naman nangyari yun. Three people were always there, day and night.

Si Juber and Shun?

Pero still, super touched ako that all three of them were there by my side.

Amorsolo Nightingale...

Amorsolo was my nurse for the whole week I was in Makati Med.

Because of the strict diet the doctors implemented, they were only serving me meager servings of bland steamed food and lugaw.

Ang problema, kapag gutom ako at hindi nabubusog, nagiging The Hulk ako (only without turning vomit-green).

By the second day, I was already in diva-mode in my hospital bed.

"Gusto ko ng fried cheeeekeeeeeen!" I wailed.

Amorsolo looked at me sternly, one eyebrow delicately raised, "No, the doctors said you can't have anything fried for the next few days."

"Kebs na sa doctors! Gutom na akoooh!" I yelled, throwing pillows around.

Amorsolo ignored me and proceeded to take pictures of himself in his signature pose.

By the third day, I was extremely sick of eating tasteless wet food.

"Gusto ko ng Big Maaaaaaaaaaac!" I cried, using all the acting tips I got from watching That's Entertainment during my gay childhood (favorite ko ang Tuesday group).

"Tse! Stop this foolishness! Yung dugo mo malapot na dahil sa dami ng taba na kinain mo tapos gusto mo pa ng Big Mac!" Amorsolo scolded me, "Tigilan mo ako ha!"

I was really really angry. I kept texting Gian na ginugutom at inaaway ako ni Amorsolo but she just said I should calm down.

Para makaganti kay Amorsolo, I kept switching the tv channel to National Geographic. They were having a week-long special on poisonous snakes. And Amorsolo absolutely hates seeing snakes.

"Aay! Ano ba yan! Ilipat mo yaaaaaan!" Amorsolo shrieked, sounding like an Assumptionista gone wild.

Tumawa lang ako habang nagkukunyaring may hawak na wine glass.

On the fourth day, Amorsolo entered my hospital room, holding in has hand a bucket of fried chicken.

Lesson of the day: Magbiro ka na sa lasing, huwag lang sa taong patay-gutom na tulad ko.

Inner Demons...

all seasons in one day

The Dietician:

While I was in the hospital, they had me talk to a dietician about my, well, my diet.

"Malakas po ba kayong kumain?" the female dietician asked me.

I thought to myself, "Hindi, mahina lang po akong kumain, puro skyflakes lang at tsoknat kaya ako tumaba ng ganito."

Instead I answered, "Opo, medyo malakas po."

"Mahilig ka sigurong kumain ng matamis ano?" she asked me, with a knowing smile on her face.

I thought: Hindi rin, puro bagoong at dilis ang dessert ko sa bahay, but I said, "Mahilig po ako sa ice cream at chocolates."

"Naku, iho, kelangang baguhin mo na ang diet mo, kasi pag tuluy-tuloy ka pa ng ganyang lagay, baka di ka na umabot ng fifty!" she warned, and then asked me, "May asawa ka na ba?"

Wala, puro booking lang.

"Wala po, single pa ho," I replied.

"Okay, so bawal ka na kumain ng matatamis masyado," she advised.

Gusto ko ng cookies and cream na ice cream, I thought.

"You should also avoid oily and fatty food," she added.

Gusto ko ng crispy pata and red horse.

"Dapat ang rice intake mo, 2 servings lang kada meal," she said, while writing on her clipboard.

She nodded, "Oo, ang isang serving equivalent to one-half cup."

So isang cup lang pala. Hmp. Imbiyerna.

The Nurse:

The nurses took samples of my blood every three hours. They checked my blood pressure once every hour. They took my vitals every hour also. I never had a decent night's sleep in my "hotel stay" sa Makati Med.

Although, don't get me wrong, the nurses were really nice. They kept laughing at my jokes and my friends who were by my side almost my entire stay in the hospital.

While one nurse kept plunging the needle in and out of my arm, looking for a vein, she asked me, "Masakit po ba?"

I wanted to answer, "Hindi! Enjoy nga eh! Tuluy-tuloy mo lang! Sarap ng pagtusok mo! Orgasmic, marse!"

The Doctors:

I think there were about five doctors who handled my case, and they all looked in on me once every day.

Although, some of them kept going to my room, just so they could watch tv. Tumatambay lang yata. Sarap talaga maging doktor.

All of them had one common advice for me: Go on a diet or die!

Ang chaka.

Hospital-ity Girl...

hospital_hallway.jpg

Hello Dear Readers!

Do forgive me for being all non-existent this past week. You see, unknown to a lot of people (or maybe wala lang talaga silang paki sa akin), I was admitted into Makati Med last Thursday. I was diagnosed with gastritis. But the thing that alarmed the doctors was my, ehem, diabetes. Yes, I am now officially a diabetic. My bloodtype is maple syrup.

Well, now I'm back. And hopefully, you guys are still out there.
