Flashback!

Six years ago, it was okay for agents to bring their cellphones inside the operations floor. Kahit nga digicam, pwede rin eh.

Ngayon, you can only bring it in kung black ang kulay ng lanyard ng ID mo (kapag pula ang lanyard mo, dehins pwede, unless part ka ng maintenance). Can you say "caste system"?

Six years ago, sa 12th and 14th floor ng sosyal na Philamlife Building naka-set up ang office ng PeopleSupport, kung saan makakasabay mo sa elevator si Jose Mari Chan (who sang the song "Beatiful Girl), who apparently had an office in the said building.

Ngayon, ang makakasabay mo lang sa elevator si Manong John Lloyd, na mahilig kumanta ng "Total Eclipse of the Heart" at "Starlight Express".

Six years ago, sa 9th floor ang tambayan ng mga smokers, sa al fresco dining area, right outside the foodcourt, overlooking Ayala.

Ngayon, ang smoking area natin nakatapat sa kanal, overlooking "Jermaine's Carinderia" and "Amee's Eatery and Other Place" (Totoong pangalan yan!) .

Six years ago, si Bong Borja ang big boss ng PeopleSupport, complete with his Ducati motorcycle and BMW and his bodyguard.

bong.jpg

Six years ago, masaya ako sa PeopleSupport.

Ngayon, masaya pa rin naman ako eh.

It's true.

Masaya ako.

Pero, the thing is, ngayon, may pero na...

Dear Readers,

Allow me a moment to rant:

Andaming nagreresign!

HAAAY.

with much love,

Girls naman?

bakla.jpg

I was reading a book in the lobby this morning, when this girl sat next to me on the sofa.

Dehins ko siya kilala (at least, I think I don't know her, I have a really bad memory), pero nakangiti siya sa akin.

"Hello Bookie!" sabi ni girl, naka-braces at mukhang medyo newbie (by which I mean, mukha pa siyang fresh at hindi pa pagod sa trabaho niya).

"Hello!" sabi ko naman, with equal cheerfulness, and I resumed my reading (I didn't mean to be suplado or anything, pero it was a really good book, you see).

I glanced up from my book, looked at her, and asked, "Yeeesss?"

"Um, sobrang nagustuhan ko yung top ten list mo!" sabi niya.

"Thank you! Nagustuhan ko rin siya," sagot ko.

The truth is, I've had mixed reviews about the top ten list. Well, you can't please everyone I guess.

Haaay. I've had several people approach me about this. A lot of them are saying I should do a top ten list of girls here in PS.

Ok, here's the thing. A lot of gay guys I know are really into beauty pageants like Ms. Universe, Miss World, at kung anu-ano pa. They know their pageant history, like who won in 1990, sinong unang Chinese ang na-crown, mga ganun baga.

I am not that kind of gay. I really don't like watching beauty contests, unless gay beauty contest.

Now that doesn't mean na I don't appreciate female beauty, I do. A lot, actually. I just don't like beauty contests.

And I feel na ang top ten list na pang-girls eh medyo parang ganun.

Hindi ba? Or am I just being too sensitive about the topic?

There's Trix from Sales, who looks artistahin (and parang dose lang ang sukat ng bewang).

There's my friend Shane, who has received lots of emails from boys on the floor (even from closet gay guys, none of which she has entertained kasi mahiyain ang lola mo).

There's my previous trainee, si Anica, who looks like a supermodel, but talks like an angel (she is so malambing).

Ayun na. Wala na akong maalalang ibang maganda. Kayo ba, may masa-suggest? Do you think really think I should make a top ten list of PS girls?

I'm curious to know, really.

Mabalik tayo kay Braces Girl.

"I think it's a good idea Bookie," she said, fervently.

"May manonominate ka ba?" I asked her.

She looked taken aback by my question, "Ummm, wala eh."

Ayun nga.
