Cubao Expo!

rain

Mahal ko na ang Cubao Expo.

If it were nearer to Makati, mas mamahalin ko siya.

c1.pjpeg

At first glance, it really doesn't look like much.

c2.pjpeg
c3.pjpeg

The place kinda reminds me of Harry Potter's Diagon Alley, the Divisoria-ish version of it.

c4.pjpeg

The main reason why I love Cubao Expo are these:

c6.pjpeg
c7.pjpeg
c8.pjpeg
c9.pjpeg

Secondhand books galore!! From P50 to P200 ang price range, at maraming hardbound copies.

And do mine eyes deceive me? Old copies of Glitter magazine! When I was in grade school in Batangas, at patago pa ang aking pagka-beki, sa Glitter magazines ko nakukuha ang weekly dose of local and foreign showbiz news ko.

c11.pjpeg

c12.pjpeg

c13.pjpeg

BTW, kasama ko nga pala noon sina Supervisor Onica and Baker Clang.

c14.pjpeg

We ate in this small resto/cafe called Halo.

c31.pjpeg

c32.pjpeg

Siguro, mga three tables lang ang kasya.

c33.pjpeg
c34.pjpeg

c35.pjpeg
Trainer Marlon lost a bet so he had to order and drink this concoction named "Gayuma" (P50).

According sa waiter, gawa ito sa bananas "and other stuff".

Di namin ma-take.

Meron din silang "Gataca" drink. Gawa sa gatas ng cow, tanduay, and carabao's milk.

c36.pjpeg

Calamansi shake na lang ang in-order ko.

c38.pjpeg

c39.pjpeg
c40.pjpeg

We wanted to take lots of pictures, kaso this pesky guard was following me around and telling me na bawal mag-picture-taking.

c19.pjpeg
c20.pjpeg

c15.pjpeg

Akala ko nga manekin, yun pala mowdel.

c16.pjpeg

Not a good-looking one at that.

c17.pjpeg

Mas may aesthetic achuchu pa.

So, we decided to make tambay muna sa sikat na bar na Mogwai.

c18.jpg
(picture from Chuvaness.com)

Mogwai is owned by film director Eric Matti.

Mondays to Saturdays ang showing at 9pm, and I'm not sure kung anung klaseng mga pelikula ang pinapalabas dun.

c25.pjpeg
A bowl of delicious crispy dilis for around P50, I think.

c26.pjpeg
And my favorite Chicken Liver swimming in gravy with more crispy dilis.

c28.pjpeg
The best na pulutan, crispy chicken leeg!

c29.pjpeg
Tokwa't baboy at itlog na pula.

c30.pjpeg

They have really cheap and beautiful masks:

And my personal favorite:

In fairness, nakakatangos ng ilong.
